Plant morphology: Okra is a herbaceous annual plant but it survive only one season. It is grown for its edible seeds pods. Okra plant grow up to an height of 4-6 ft tall. Okra plant have small erect stem with bristly and heart shaped leaves, leaves are 4-8 inches long with 5 lobes. Flowers are with white to yellow in colour with 5 petals, 1.6-3 inches in diameter. Seeds pods are capsule about 10 inches long, which contain numerous seeds.

Soil and Climatic requirement: Soil: Bhendi can grow in any soil, for best yield grow in Sandy loam and clay loam soils.
